I have had a lot of web cams, and this is the best. Yes, the software is simple, but I did not buy it for the software. This camera will find movement, and zoom in on your face, giving great results.

I will warn you. If you do not have a USB 2.0 port, you will not get good results. Make sure you plug it in to the correct port, and you should not have any problems. -- This web cam is awesome
