I bought 3 of this for $30 in total, and all work well. What a steal deal! -- Very good

Super easy to install and use. Got it for my wife so she could Skype and blog - she's not the most excited over new tech or a change in her tech, but loved this product. Has made life easier for her. -- Easy use

In looking for a camera to point out the window, I bought and tried this one. Not the right choice.

It does most things well--recognized by XP without drivers (shows up as a video input device under My Computer), very compact, nice picture quality, long cord, and a manual focus ring. It has an unobtrusive blue LED when powered on, and even connected via USB1 produced a high-framerate video stream.

But, when you try to use it in bright light--full sunlight or even cloudy daylight--the picture washes out badly and is basically useless. If you're using it for standard webcam stuff--sitting in front of your screen with maybe a light on in the room--it's a nice camera. Point it out the window, not so much.

Of course, most inexpensive webcams seem to do the same (lack of aperture control and adjusted to operate under very poor lighting, basically), so it's not necessarily worse than others in the category. -- Nice, but not in the sun
